Field Trip to Old Town Sites in the Lower Swan River

Join Bill Fountain, author, historical detective and friend of the Ghost Town Club on a rediscovery of the previously lost sites in the lower Swan River, in Summit County near Breckenridge.

OVERVIEW: On this field trip, we will visit five historic townsites; Swan City, Tiger, Parkville, Spencerville, and Wapiti. History on all these sites are covered in Bill Fountain’s books:

ITINERARY:

8:45am – Meet at the Blair Witch (#4 Dredge remains) parking lot (~25 minutes) Address: 2567 Tiger Road, Dillon, CO 80435. Here, we will wait for all attendees to arrive and then leave for our first destination, carpooling, if necessary, to Swan City at 9:10am.

9:10am – Leave for Swan City

9:20am – Swan City (adjacent to parking lot) (~45 minutes)
