Park County’s Boomtowns and Backroads Field Trip with Kate McCoy, Josh Robinson and Olive Collier

Trip Overview:
Join the Ghost Town Club for a day exploring three of Park County’s historic mining sites near Alma, Colorado. This special trip includes guided visits to the privately owned North London Mill and Paris Mill led by NoLo Executive Director Kate McCoy, followed by a tour of the Buckskin Joe Mine with GTC Director Josh Robinson. We’ll make three stops throughout the day and break midday for a GTC picnic lunch surrounded by Colorado’s high-country history.
The trip is free to attend, though donations to NoLo’s nonprofit are highly encouraged! Please plan to bring your own lunch and water, or pick up food in Alma before we depart. Don’t forget a picnic blanket or camping chair for our lunch break!
We’ll meet in Alma at 10:00AM to review the schedule, share a brief history of Park County, and sign waiver forms before heading out. Carpooling from Alma in 4×4 vehicles is encouraged to help limit traffic on private properties.
